Do you rely upon your parents hand outs? or do you do it all off your own back?
Just been having an interesting conversation with friends and it is quite shocking how much people take their parents for granted. I know that my parents give me so much and i thank them dearly for it, they have given me love and care and most importantly they have supported me and tried (and succeded) in giving me everything i need. the education and the support, but now they are teaching me how to stand on my own two feet which is the most important thing that they can teach me in life. I know that they are there if i need them but i like the fact that everything i buy and all that i do here in Durham i have got off my own back. If i was relying upon them to give me everything then nothing would be mine and i dont think that i would enjoy it as much, also what happens if something happens and they cannot support you any more? then where would you be, there is no point in saying it wont happen to me as it can and it does so just think guys, you are all reaching the age of adulthood should we not be like adults and stand alone. it is sometimes hard but then it is also so rewarding as you know that what you have done you worked towards and also it makes you realise what you need and what you dont, you should give it a go, but always remember that family are always there to help you and they will, be it mother, father, brother, sister or aunt. Go on enter the big wide world. I know all the basics, that is easy, but the personal touch and what makes the difference from adequate to excellent was explained in such a way that you still have to try but if you do you have a chance of getting there. Positive ideas and thought, that is what is needed. There are too many people out there that are satisfied with second best, but that should not be the case, we should be able to be picky and wait until we are ready and we are sure that what we have is what we want. It is seen over and over again in society that we are pressured into things that we don't want to do or are not ready and this is wrong, I shall not go off into a rant now as I need some sleep but I think we need to remember that if we wait and are dedicated enough we too can obtain what we truly want.
Sleep well

Helloo again.
Well there is not much hope for me it has taken about ten mins and two girls to try to understand how this thing works, so I can update my goings on etc, and as a result I now have to leave to go to a tutorial. As today is Halloween and I get to dress up. I went to 24 last night for their bash, which was good though sadly a lack of effort made on the whole attire front, Conner was superwoman but most people seemed to think themselves scary enough without make-up, but when I run round Durham with fishnets on and a red coat I would like it if someone else did similar.
I had a rather interesting conversation about Halloween with a friend of mine the other day, they (will call them X for ease and to keep them anonymous) do not approve of Halloween or celebrating it as they are Christian and believe that it goes against it. Now I am a Christian but I still believe that you can celebrate this event, I'm not saying that I neccessarily believe in what is said about the spirits rising etc and that there are people out there who suck your blood ( and you dont have to be dead to want to do that). I dont know, Thomas Ball mentioned on his blog the other day (and would give the link but I dont know how) about Christians not believing in Harry Potter, or that it was not fitting for young Christians to read it, now I think that this is just taking it too far and that just because you read it or take an interest in it this does not automatically mean that you are willing to sell your soul to the devil. I dont believe that we should be limited when it comes to understanding or experiencing these things, just because we do not believe in the fundimentals. How can we have an opinion on them if we have not tried them or been witness to them in some way. Am I wrong? Am I going to burn for all eternity because I like to see other sides to life and others views and ideas? I really hope not, but if any of you have any comforting words for me or prayers for my damned soul then please let me now so that I can sleep more soundly at night.
Cheers
